Is there a {p} tag between them? If you just have them one after the other, with no line break (eg img src="" and then immediately img src etc) it should do them without a break.
I put a gap one line in between them so that I could put in captions. I didn't place any tags in the post, although just as I loaded it some html jargon flashed up. It was so utterly frustrating that I nearly threw my laptop out the window!
I have found that photos and captions are areal pain and all you can do is experiment in the HTML edit screen , but you are brave including family pic's in your blog

A one line gap - not a "gap one line." My frustration has messed with my sentence structure!
