Sick (and so is the blog?)

I'm wracked with aches and drenched in sweat. I have a sore throat and headache, both so nasty they've merged and become one pulsing, flaming wave of evil. I probably should have got the free flu shot that was offered at work. Avoiding the Melbourne Breakbeat thingy on Friday night would have been smart as well - the end result of that venture was as predictable as a character death in a soapie with flagging ratings.

Disconnection comes strongest in a thumping, bouncing club full of people that are there to socialize and have fun. The irony used to amuse me, but now it's just a drag.

A point of concern has arisen. If I type my name into Google the link for this site comes up. Not an indirect link, not a referred link, but a straight-out, direct link. This is puzzling and worrisome: puzzling because there is no mention of my real name on this site, or in the personal details that I provided to open it; worrisome for very obvious reasons. It could be time for the blog to die and for a new one to be born elsewhere. But it's best not to make such decisions in the midst of a fever.

Oh this had me so concerned [I am such an anonimity freak that I get weird when people use my real first name on my blog] that I had to go google myself. Ugh. Fortunately, I don't seem to have a blog to secret indentity link.

I'm googling you to see what's what...

Check what the name attached to your msn email address is. If your full name comes up on that, and the email address is attached to your blogger profile, that might be it.

A search of your blog via the blog search function didn't come up with any results, so I suspect it's something to do with the information you added into your profile that sits behind the published information.

I'd get paranoid too, Nailpolish - it is best to keep the blog separated from the real world. Lucky for you it sounds like you've maintained the divide.

I think you might be right, Somegirl. Maybe I need to change to an email address that doesn't list my real name. Thanks for checking it for me. I didn't realize that you knew my name (not that it worries me if you do) - did I leave it on the email that I sent you?

On the last email that you sent, your full name showed up, which is why I figured that's what it was nothing actually posted on your blog, but something listed on the frontend control panel in blogger.

Look at me, drunk blogging on a Tuesday night!

Ah, the mystery is resolved. Now you know my embarrassing surname.

Tuesday is as good a day/night as any for getting drunk.

Ah, I learnt that particular mistake some years back. Always annoying.

Now I need to figure out how to fix it.

If you need help, let me know, I can walk you through the steps of changing the information...

I think I've changed it, but cheers for the help. Now I just have to hope that ex-girlfriends, friends, family or enemies don't Google my real name the link dies.
