I've got you pegged

Working in the corporate world is not dissimilar to working as a Hollywood actor. Both forms of employment dictate that their protagonist act out a role they have no belief in. The script is dead, there is no higher purpose, and money is the only prize. I'm here, so I'm no better. Tom Cruise, minus the good looks, running around in a boring role, trying to convince the world of the company's worth.

And why the shirt and tie ordeal? Who are we trying to impress? I can't remember the last time that any of us met customers. Are we trying to impress each other? 'Look! Look at my tie!' is the silent scream from some of these corporate junkies. I say, if you want to wear a tie feel free, but don't impose your fraudster sentiments on the rest of us.

I think anonymous is trying to sell you something... Have you ever watched the BBC sitcom The Office? It is hilarious and just emphasizes all the ridiculous parts of working in an office. Alas, I'm an office hack too but at least I work in an arts office so I can dress or come in looking all messed up and it just means I'm creative, as opposed to fired, which in some ways is equally as ridiculous.

Yes, apparently someone has decided that landscape gardening is an integral part of my lifestyle.

The office has gone down as my favourite sitcom of all time. Some of the jokes tickle me in places that I didn't think were ticklish!

I'm going to be one of those 'fired' people that you referred to, which is actually a blessing as it is prompting me to go back and study next year.
